The Process

Buying, building or remodeling a home is one of the biggest events in your life. Therefore, it’s natural to be a bit anxious. You will get through it. Just bring a little patience, a sense of humor, and we will provide the rest. Our professional step by step process has helped hundreds of our clients take the anxiety out of the home building process. We work closely with you every step of the way to provide you with a smooth and enjoyable home building experience.

Although the process of building a home can be complicated, we have found that it helps our clients to divide the process into the following sections:

1.Initial meeting with Trudell Homes

At our first meeting it is very important that we…listen to you, so that we have a true understanding of the vision you have for your dream home or renovation project. We will then give you our advice and ideas taken from our many years of experience.

2. Apply for financing

If your project is going to require financing, we are eager to work with your bank or guide you through the process with one of our recommended lenders.

3. Find the land, neighborhood or subdivision where you want to live

How are the schools? How is the traffic? We are more than happy to help you gather information about the location you are considering. Or if you have a lot or are interested in one of our communities, we will work diligently to find the perfect location for you.

4. Determine the design

Our plans or yours, or if you just have a file full of magazine photos or a plan from the internet, we will work with you to create the exact vision you have for your home. We can work with your architect or ours, just let us know where you stand in the design phase, and we help you determine the next step – even if it’s your first step.

5. Choose your selections

While it is not important that you determine exactly which oven you are going to want at this stage, it is important to determine the price range of the selections you will be making for your home. We will work closely with you and our vendors to set allowances that will allow you to choose the quality of the fixtures and finishes you want in your home.

6. Set the budget

Once your plans, specifications and selections are complete, we can go to bid with our suppliers and subcontractors to compile the exact pricing to assure that you have a comprehensive contract price.

7.Build your home

We pride ourselves on our excellent communication and involvement of our clients throughout the construction process. We strive to make the building of your home a worry-free experience for you and your family.

8.Maintain the relationship

Just because your home is finished doesn’t mean our relationship is over. We maintain a close relationship with each of our clients. We will continue to provide answers and information long after you and your family has settled into your home. Our company is built upon your valued satisfaction.

No matter where you are in this process, when you contact Trudell Homes, we can help. More importantly, we want to help. Let us know how we can best assist you in your home building or remodeling project.
